The platform is intended for customers of Smart Cam GmbH and provides access to the construction-site cameras assigned to them (live view, stored images, time-lapse videos and image comparison). A user account and sign-in are required to use it.

• Account data: name, email address and password (stored encrypted), as well as the permissions and construction sites assigned to you.
• Usage data: access to live streams, images and time-lapse videos of the cameras assigned to you.
• Technical data: IP address, device and connection information and log data required to provide, stabilise and secure the service.
• Communication data: content you send us via the support or chat function.

We process this data to provide the platform and camera access (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR or Art. 31 revFADP), to keep operations secure and stable, and to prevent misuse (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The available footage shows construction sites and may occasionally capture individuals. The operator of the respective site is responsible for the lawfulness of its video surveillance. Depending on the configuration, recordings are typically retained for 24 to 72 hours and then automatically overwritten, unless a longer retention period has been agreed.

The platform contains no advertising, uses no analytics or tracking services and does not use an advertising ID. Your data is not processed for advertising purposes, not sold and not shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

Data is shared only where necessary for operation — for example with carefully selected technical service providers (e.g. hosting and infrastructure) acting as processors and exclusively on our instructions. Beyond this, data is shared only where required by law.

Account data is stored for the duration of the contractual relationship and deleted afterwards, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Camera footage is retained as described in the camera footage section. Log data is stored only as long as necessary for the stated purposes.

Transmission between the app or web portal and our servers is encrypted (TLS). Access to data is protected by user account and permissions.

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise these rights, contact info@smart-cam.ch. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Switzerland: the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, FDPIC).

You can request deletion of your account and the associated personal data at any time by email to info@smart-cam.ch. We will then delete your data, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

The platform is intended for business users and not for children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in the law or in functionality. The version published on this page applies at any given time.
